Me and Richard headed into Charlotte early this morning to attend a meeting of the Greater Charlotte Geocaching Club and had the chance to meet some of the local geocachers. Breakfast was great and we all swapped a few stories and then, on to the caching.
Our first two were micros, pretty vanilla although one was the start of a series that we would finish later in the day that turned out to be pretty good.
Our third cache of the morning was the one in the following vid.
Geocaching will take you to some places that you can’t describe with words. That’s why I do this blog. Pictures as they are worth a thousand words. So what is video worth?
We spent the rest of the afternoon in Charlotte and hit up 18 caches in all. Of those, six were The 6 Napoleons Series. This was a nice little series with an interesting payoff.
We had originally planned to hit 33 caches today, but when you have a 4 year old back home that wants to go to the local Christmas Parade at 4:00, you do what you have to do.
Small town parades are interesting. This ain’t Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade (yeah, I said ain’t.) The locals decorate their cars, and the fire engines are brought in from all over the county, and the floats are hand made by amateurs and you know what? It’s a great way to spend an afternoon. (Although Logan decided halfway through that if they weren’t going to start throwing candy, then she was going to go home.)
